Hi! My name is Sydney Cooke and I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in Florida. I earned both my bachelor’s and my master’s degrees from Emory & Henry University. I graduated with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023.
It is my goal to create a warm and accepting environment in which my clients feel able to be their authentic selves. I take a humanistic approach to therapy, believing that a strong therapeutic relationship is foundational to change and that you are the expert on your life. I believe that therapy is a journey that the therapist and client embark on together, and I am honored to take that journey with each of my clients.
My specialties include working with those navigating anxiety, depression, stress management, major life changes/transitions, and interpersonal relationship difficulties. I work with individuals, families, couples, and children. I utilize techniques from Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I also enjoy using elements of existential therapy as I work with clients to explore life's big questions and find meaning.
In my free time I enjoy being with family and friends, traveling, and eating new foods. I practice self-care through journaling, playing Mario video games, reading, and being physically active.
