Stefanie Stauber Bio
Hi, my name is Stefanie Stauber, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Sunglow Counseling. I believe one of the bravest things one can do is to ask for help. In therapy, we will work together to help you discover yourself as well as your story with the vision to make meaningful steps toward personal growth and healing.
I was born in Switzerland, raised in Italy and Venezuela, and ultimately moved to the U.S. with my family when I was 12 years old. I am fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, and Swiss-German and provide counseling in both English and Spanish. My personal experiences immigrating to several countries at a young age have greatly influenced my values and approach as a counselor, which have prepared me to work comfortably and effectively with a variety of populations. I value diversity and cultural differences and my approach is warm, compassionate, inclusive, authentic, and non-judgmental.
I am dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable space that fosters discovery, healing, empowerment, and change. I utilize evidence-based modalities and work in collaboration with individuals, couples, and families to develop a personalized care plan that best suits their needs and therapeutic goals. I feel privileged to be doing this work and would feel honored to be able to support you in your personal journey.
Borderline Personality Disorder
Aging and Geriatric Issues
My international background inspired my curiosity for understanding cultural differences and led me to obtain a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Florida in 2004. At the University of Florida, I began working with international students, supporting their cultural and linguistic adjustment in pursuit of their academic goals in the U.S. My experience working with international students energized me to seek my first Master's degree in International Education from SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, Vermont in 2014. Advising international students at several universities in the U.S., I collaborated with counseling centers on campuses to support their unique mental health needs. These experiences motivated me to further my education in mental health counseling, leading me to earn a Master's degree in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2019.
