Our Story

Hi and welcome to Sunglow Counseling!

We look forward to working with you on your journey towards feeling and living an  empowered, peaceful and fulfilling life.

I am Jessica Sweeney, licensed mental health counselor and founder of Sunglow Counseling. I utilize a collaborative and strength-based perspective in therapy – an approach that reinforces a client’s ability to be authentic and find meaning in their process.
After earning a Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology from the University of Florida, I moved to Chicago and completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University. After a few too many harsh winters in Chicago, I made my way back to Florida and have been developing my career ever since. I’ve been a counselor for 9 years and I absolutely adore what I do. I have specialized experience working with addiction, trauma and teens as well as the LGBTQIA population.

We all face challenges and changes in life, though I believe we all have the capacity to grow as we overcome these obstacles. Our bodies and minds are wired to heal and sometimes we benefit from focused support and attention to work through our barriers. I hope to be a part of your journey towards healing and prosperity.

I am Tabitha Giaquinto, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Sunglow Counseling. I strive to provide unconditional positive support, a safe environment for healing, and individualized care for each person based on their goals. I utilize various evidenced based modalities throughout my work while also building and fostering a strong therapeutic rapport that supports growth and empowerment for each person, regardless of their identity, gender, religion, or life circumstance.

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in 2014 and graduated with a Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in 2018. Since I was young, I have always had a passion and dedication to helping others realize their potential in times of adversity, and this continues to show in my work with clients today.

I have specialized experience in working with addiction, trauma, anxiety and depression, and adjustment difficulties following life events. I believe, wholeheartedly, that owning your story no matter the narrative allows you the opportunity to write a beautiful ending that is unique to you. I look forward to guiding you in your journey and being part of your process.
